Toronto, ON – Montréal resident Jessica Lefrançois won a grand prize of $1,000 a week for life at Gagnant à vie! She was smiling ear to ear when she came to collect her cheque at Loto-Québec headquarters with her family.
Ms. Lefrançois rarely—basically never—plays the lottery. Yet last Friday, after having received her grades, she decided to celebrate with an ice cream cone and a Gagnant à vie! ticket. The $1,000-a-week-for-life grand prize will enable her to pursue her studies in psychology and ensure her an income during her unpaid internships. She also intends on purchasing a car and looks forward to travelling.
“I won for life,” cried out Ms. Lefrançois to her mother, after discovering that she was holding a winning ticket in her hands. “I always thought to myself that you seldom see young people win at the lottery. I am living proof that you only have to play once to win,” she said during her visit to Loto-Québec. “At Loto-Québec, we are all thrilled for this young winner who has remained grounded despite all the excitement,” said Patrice Lavoie, Corporate Director, Public Affairs, Press Relations and Social Media, as he handed the cheque to the winner. “She plans on pampering herself, all the while putting money aside for her years of studies ahead. She enthusiastically accepted to share her story to show that a stroke of luck can happen no matter what your age.”
This winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur de la Piste (15808 Rue Notre-Dame Est, Montréal)
