Toronto, ON – Isaias Wall and his nephew, Carlos Wall of Aylmer, are celebrating after winning $262,286.30 with LOTTO MAX (September 9, 2016 draw). The pair matched six out of the seven numbers plus the bonus number on their ticket to win the secondary prize.
“A few weeks ago we were both at a family reunion in Aylmer,” shared Isaias while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where the two picked up their winnings. “My nephew and I were talking about the lottery and that conversation led to us to buy some tickets.”
Isaias purchased the tickets. “A week later I was at the grocery stores and recalled I had two tickets to check. I scanned my tickets at the ticket checker and one came up as ‘Big Winner.’ I handed it to the retailer to validate and she was so excited when she realized I had a winning ticket. I kept my composure even though I was extremely excited.”
Isaias returned to work. “I called my wife and told her that the cruise she’s been dreaming about is now a possibility. The next day I called Carlos but he didn’t answer so I told his dad. Carlos called me immediately. I told him we won big but at first he didn’t believe me. He kept asking, ‘How much? That’s unreal. I can’t believe it!’”
The pair made their way to Toronto to pick up their big cheque but only shared the news with a small group of relatives. “We have 15 uncles and aunts and 56 cousins. We all live within 30 kilometres of each other so they will find out soon enough. We might just celebrate with everyone during the next holiday.”
Carlos is planning to spoil loved ones with his windfall. “I want to take them on a shopping spree and get them all new gear for the house and for their wardrobes. I also want to send my mom to Mexico so she can go see her father. She hasn’t seen him in six years and I know that would mean a lot to her. As for myself, I would like to take a vacation, maybe the Mayan Riviera in Mexico since I’ve never been to that part of the country before.”
Isaias is also planning to splurge on loved ones. “After paying off our mortgage, I would like to take my wife and three kids on a Caribbean vacation.”
The pair is also making plans to invest a portion of their winnings. “We would like to go in on a rental property together so we have income coming in for the future,” concluded the two.
The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Louisa Street in Parry Sound.
