Toronto, ON – Garth Holding of Durham has a million more reasons to celebrate after winning the Guaranteed $1 Million Prize from the June 25, 2016 LOTTO 6/49 draw. It’s the first time Garth has won the lottery but definitely not the first time he’s had a life-changing experience.

“Winning the lottery is incredible and goes along with my paramount goal which is to live every day to the fullest,” smiled Garth while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he picked up windfall. “Sometimes it takes nearly losing it all to put things in perspective.”

In 2004, Garth and his wife were in a high-speed, head-on crash. His wife suffered minor injuries with Garth taking the brunt of the impact. “I was airlifted to hospital, went into full cardiac arrest and was put in a drug-induced coma for more than a month so my body could start to heal. I was literally broken from head to toe with fractures to my pelvis, arms and legs. I was in a wheelchair for eight years when I finally began to walk on my own again in 2012,” shared Garth.

Today Garth and his wife are excited to make plans for the future. “My wife loves the water, is a master scuba diver and although she enjoys lake dives, it would be her dream to dive in the ocean. The Turks and Caicos Islands are on the calendar for this fall and we can’t wait. My whole life has been a journey and winning the lottery is a wonderful chapter in my story.”

This winning ticket was purchased at Eckhardt’s Shell and Variety on Highway 4 in Durham, ON
