Toronto, ON – Faye Officer of Elliot Lake, a long time lottery player, is ecstatic after winning the $7 million jackpot in the September 5, 2015 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
“The morning after the draw, I checked my ticket at the self-checker. I saw some zeros and thought I had won $7,000, which seemed great at the time. But as I kept scanning my ticket in disbelief, I realized that I had won the $7 million jackpot,” shared Faye while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her prize. “I immediately went to my car and cried, laughed and screamed and then cried again!”
The win became real after sharing the news with her husband and validating her ticket with a retailer.
Faye, a convenience store employee, and her husband, Elliot Lake Fire Chief, are both taking an early retirement. While a new set of golf clubs, a new truck and helping out their two children is in the couple’s plan, so is some travel. “Visiting Australia is at the top of my list,” shared Faye.
When asked if she still plans to play LOTTO 6/49, Faye smiled, “Absolutely! Maybe lightening will strike twice!”
The winning ticket was purchased at the Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Hillside Drive in Elliot Lake.by
