Toronto, ON – Eric Dupuis from Kanata is celebrating after winning $112,089.80 from the September 21, 2016 LOTTO 6/49 draw. Eric matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win a secondary prize.
“I was at the store to pick up groceries when I decided to buy a LOTTO 6/49 ticket,” shared Eric while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto where he got his big cheque. “I found out about my win the day after the draw.”
On the way to an appointment, Eric stopped by the store to scan his ticket in the ticket checker. “When I realized I had a secondary prize winning ticket, I asked the retailer to validate it. The terminal shut down. I couldn’t believe it. The retailer was very happy and congratulated me on my win.”
Eric shared the good news with his parents. “They were very excited for me. It was a very busy day at work for my wife so I had to wait until she got home that night to share the news. She started crying because she couldn’t believe I had just won the lottery.”
Eric is planning to dedicate a portion of his win to home renovations. “I also want to take my wife on a Hawaiian vacation to celebrate this win. Plus, I plan to buy a heavy coat that will keep me warm during the winter months as I work outdoors. The rest of the money will be put into savings,” concluded Eric.
The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Eagleson Road in Kanata.
