On Dec. 24, 2010, LOTTO MAX players in Ontario will have six extra chances to win a prize of $1 million with ONTARIO’S LOTTO MAX BONUS. This is a one-time-only promotion and only for tickets purchased in Ontario.

Each LOTTO MAX ticket sold in Ontario for the Dec. 24, 2010, draw can win big in three different ways: the main LOTTO MAX Jackpot of $50 million, the MAXMILLIONS draws for prizes of $1 million each, plus – for tickets purchased in Ontario only – a series of six special draws for $1 million each with ONTARIO’S LOTTO MAX BONUS.

The odds of winning any of the bonus draws are the same as those for winning the LOTTO MAX Jackpot or a MAXMILLIONS prize.

What Is Ontario’s Lotto Max Bonus?

On the LOTTO MAX plus MAXMILLIONS draw to occur on Dec. 24, 2010, OLG will offer ONTARIO’S LOTTO MAX BONUS, a series of six special draws for $1 million each.

Each LOTTO MAX ticket sold in Ontario for the draw can win big in three different ways: the main LOTTO MAX Jackpot of $50 million, the MAXMILLIONS draws for prizes of $1 million each, plus – for tickets purchased in Ontario only – a series of six special draws for $1 million each with ONTARIO’S LOTTO MAX BONUS.

Is This Bonus The Way That OLG Is Providing The $6 Million In “Special Prizing” That Was Announced In July 2010?

Yes. OLG announced on July 22, 2010, that $6 million in special prizing had been set aside in a segregated acount and would be offered in the future.

The special prizing was announced after LOTTO MAX tickets in Ontario omitted the term “estimated” on the English portion of the ticket in reference to the number of MAXMILLIONS prizes available in the June 25, 2010, draw.

The value of $6 million represents the difference between the 55 MAXMILLIONS prizes that were estimated for the June 25 draw and the actual number of 49 MAXMILLIONS that were drawn as determined by final ticket sales.

How Will I Know Which Sets Of Numbers On My Lotto Max Ticket Will Be Good For Any Of The Various Prizes (Main Jackpot, Maxmillions And Ontario Bonus Draws)?

Will A Bonus Prize Be Split If There Is More Than One Winning Ticket?

How Will I Know If I Have Won Any Of These Bonus Draws?

The winning numbers for these bonus draws will be published in all the usual places (OLG website, retail outlets, etc.) along with the usual LOTTO MAX and MAXMILLIONS winning numbers. At any time, players can also use the self-serve ticket checkers at lottery retailer outlets to see if they have won.

Are There Any Subsidiary Prizes?

What Will Happen To The Bonus Prize Money If It Is Not All Won?

This is a one-time special bonus for LOTTO MAX tickets purchased in Ontario. The Ontario bonus prizes are in addition to the LOTTO MAX main Jackpot and the MAXMILLIONS prizes and will not be re-offered if not won. Funding for this bonus is from OLG’s general operating fund account rather than from ticket sales. Prize money not won will be returned to OLG’s general operating fund account and will be contributed to profits that are paid to the province for public benefit.
