Scarborough lottery player wins $1 million MaxMillions prizeSahar Khodr, a lottery player from Scarborough, won big on Lotto Max as she took home $1,000,000 MaxMillions prize. She won the prize from the February 3, 2012 Lotto Max draw.

Sahar said that the windfall came as a big surprise when she claimed the lottery prize at the OLG Prize Centre.

The stay-at-home mother discovered that she won $1 million on Saturday when she took her kids out for a day of skating and she visited a nearby lottery retailer to check whether her Lotto Max ticket won. She had the biggest surprise of her life when the self-checker flashed “BIG WINNER.” She then approached the cashier and gave the ticket for validation. The big freeze took place afterwards.

Sahar moved to Scarborough from Lebanon twelve years ago. She said she began playing the lottery only three months ago.

Sahar, age 47, is married and a mother of two. She plans to purchase a house and go on a vacation with her windfall.

She bought the lucky winning ticket at a Shell gas station located on Victoria Park Avenue in Scarborough.
