It’s going to be a great holiday season for Sudbury couple Roberto and Patricia Parisotto. A $1 ENCORE ticket purchase for the Nov 10, 2010 draw has turned into a $1 million prize for the hard-working pair.
“I was so shell-shocked when I found out I had won the ENCORE jackpot that I completely forgot to bring the groceries home!” said Mr. Parisotto.
Roberto’s wife Patricia says that at first she was sure he was playing a joke on her.
“But then I saw he was just about ready to burst, with a huge smile, and I knew that he was serious, that we had won $1 million!” she said.
The local electrician and teacher drove from Sudbury to the OLG Toronto Prize Centre to claim their prize.
Mrs. Parisotto said that their first splurge will potentially be on a brand new vehicle.
“$1 million won’t drastically change our lives, but it’s going to be great to have a bit of a cushion,” she said. “Life is so short, that we’ll definitely do something to celebrate this win!”
The couple is excited to take a first trip to Italy to explore their family’s heritage with their children.
“We are definitely going to do a lot more travelling now!” said Mrs. Parisotto.
ENCORE can be played in conjunction with any printed lottery game for an additional fee of $1. There is an ENCORE draw every day.
The winning ticket was purchased at Smitty’s Convenience on Regent Street in Sudbury.
